During the war [...] a schoolteacher in Epe, Gelderland, worked in uniform for the SS/SD and after the war he was sentenced to labor in the coalmines.
I was hiding in Tongeren and Epe during the war, and he was one of the fellows we were strongly warned against.
Whatever I have been trying, I could not find out what exactly he was sentenced for.Would you have any information?
Did he work closely together with Achterberg or Jonker, who were killed by the resistance?
Was he involved with the murder of 'onderduikers' next to Venneholt in Tongeren near the end of the war?

my wife remembered that the execution near Venneholt , which was a summer cottage near Wissel, Gortel and Tongeren, happened on 23 December 1944, and that at least wo indiviaals were shot there named Mendelsohn and van Horne.
